With less than a month remaining until the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off in Green Bay, Wisconsin, more mock drafts are being released. When it comes to the Eagles and who they will select in the first round, one NFL analyst believes they team will not make a pick and trade out of the spot. According to NFL Network draft analyst Lance Zierlein’s latest mock draft , the Eagles will not be making a first-round selection.

Instead, he has them trading the 32nd and final pick of the round to the New Orleans Saints, who use it to select Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. The deal would provide former Eagles offensive coordinator and current Saints head coach Kellen Moore with a quarterback he can develop. The Saints’ future at quarterback remains uncertain.

Moore now leads the team, and both Derek Carr and Spencer Rattler appear questionable as long-term options. Trading up to No. 32 would allow New Orleans to secure a fifth-year option on Dart and give him the time needed to make the transition to the NFL and learn Moore’s scheme while still giving the Saints an affordable extra year if Dart turns into a good player.

“With teams like the Giants (No. 34 overall) and Raiders (No. 37) sitting in front of the Saints (No.

40) in the second round, New Orleans swaps with the Eagles to land a quarterback,” Zierlein said. For the Eagles, the focus would be on compensation. The Saints currently hold nine draft picks, including the ninth overall pick in the first round, a second-round pick (40th overall), two third-round picks (71st and 93rd overall) and two fourth-round picks.

The Eagles would likely receive the Saints’ second-round pick along with either a third- or fourth-round selection and a pick in 2026. The Eagles have already amassed significant draft assets, holding eight picks in 2025 and projecting to have 11 in 2026, thanks to three expected compensatory picks for losing defensive tackle Milton Williams (New England Patriots), defensive end Josh Sweat (Arizona Cardinals) and offensive lineman Mekhi Becton (Los Angeles Chargers) in free agency. The Eagles have prioritized locking up their young talent with long-term deals while using draft picks to replenish depth along the offensive and defensive lines and could do that with the extra selections, allowing them to navigate the draft board and target the specific players they want.
