If the Philadelphia Eagles wanted to give their fanbase and fantasy owners alike a heart attack, Wednesday night's injury report was the best way to do it. Quarterback Jalen Hurts landed on Philadelphia's initial injury report with an ankle injury that kept him limited in practice. With a marquee matchup Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams on the way, Hurts' availability is something to watch.
Eric Hartline-Imagn Images Luckily for the Birds, Hurts' ankle injury won't reportedly keep him out on Sunday. Speaking to reporters about the injury, the former standout out of both Alabama and Oklahoma that his "limited" participation was part of a "mini program" the team was using to make sure he would be 100% for the stretch run for the remainder of the season. In both 2022 and 2023, Hurts suffered lower body injuries that either kept him out of games (twice in 2022) or limited his overall skills (a big part of Philadelphia's collapse in 2023).

The extra time off in between games should suit Philadelphia well, but it essentially puts Hurts on the recovery track for a third straight season. The good news is the Eagles are ahead of this current process with their quarterback and it doesn't appear to be something that will hinder Hurts moving forward for the remainder of the season.
