Few coaches in the NFL this season are under as much of a microscope as Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. His 42-19 record through his first four seasons is a mark of a quality coach, but due to the team's collapse in 2023, and lack of play-calling prowess have led Sirianni to be believed as nothing more than just a mediocre coach who rides the coattails of a talented roster. Not everyone feels that way, though.
Especially in the Eagles locker room. Speaking on "Good Morning Football'' on Wednesday morning, Eagles upstart linebacker Zack Baun detailed exactly why Sirianni should be considered an excellent coach in this league. And why players love playing for him.
"It's the media. You can't listen to the outside noise because Nick is such a powerful leader. He knows what to do.
He's a player's coach first," Baun said. "Credit goes to him for bringing the right guys. He's doing a great job of leading this team.
"He's passionate and I love it. It gives people something to cheer about." Related: Should Eagles Hire Just-Fired GM? Sirianni has gotten in hot water at times with fans in the stands including Philadelphia's 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns this year where it appeared Sirianni got into a screaming match with members of the fanbase after the win.
It's hard to ignore the numbers, though, and when it comes to Sirianni, few coaches have the kind of winning pedigree that the Eagles currently enjoy. Related: Eagles Focused On One Key Thing Amid Hot Start.
