After a successful run, Letters of Suresh is set to return to the stage this December, bringing its powerful exploration of human connection back to audiences. Directed by Feroz Abbas Khan, the play delves into the lives of four characters, each seeking meaningful bonds through the timeless art of letter-writing. At the centre of this emotional journey is actor Vir Hirani, whose portrayal captivated audiences in the previous run.

Reflecting on casting Vir Hirani, Feroz Abbas Khan shared, “The play is a series of monologues about four people reaching out for connection, a beautiful epistolary journey where they communicate through letters, trying to forge a delicate bond. As I was reading the script, I knew Vir was the one. I called him, did his audition, and he was simply perfect.

” Khan’s decision to cast Hirani went beyond matching him to a role. “Vir doesn’t just portray a role in Letters of Suresh—the story, in many ways, found him. He has the sensitivity and depth needed for this part, and his training at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, along with his talent and dedication, makes him truly exceptional.

He is something special,” he said. The play, which returns to NMACC and Prithvi Theatre in December, offers a chance to witness Hirani’s performance firsthand. While the anticipation around his career builds, his theatre debut has already set a high bar, adding depth and nuance to an already stirring story.
