The Miami Heat revealed an 8-foot bronze statue of legend Dwyane Wade right in front of Kaseya Center on Sunday afternoon. This new monument not only signifies the importance of the former Marquette standout but also marks the first statue to go up at the Heat arena in the franchise's 37 years of existence. 3 Heat jersey and a list of his career achievements, with the mention of his Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame induction in 2023 at the top. But there seemed to be one issue with the new figure and Wade himself would agree: it looks nothing like him. As Wade was introduced to the crowd at Kaseya Center, his initial response was pretty much on par with what many have been saying .

In 2017, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo had a bust of himself unveiled as part of the renaming ceremony of Madeira's Airport, changing it to the Christiano Ronaldo International Airport.

The bust was removed 15 months later. Wade was the No. 5 pick in the 2003 NBA draft, a year that brought the league big stars, including LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Carmelo Anthony.
