Prayagraj: The district witnessed a dust storm accompanied by showers on Sunday morning, offering a short-lived break from the oppressive weather. However, as the day progressed, sunny conditions returned with temperatures climbing steadily. The traffic flow remained largely uninterrupted across arterial roads, underpasses and highways, with only fallen tree branches caused by the intense dust storm creating minor obstacles.

Weather specialists had anticipated strong dust storm over the following two days, along with potential light rainfall in certain areas. The storm contributed to a reduction in peak temperature, with readings falling by more than three degrees on Sunday to 33 degrees Celsius, slightly lower than the seasonal average. The severe dust storm and rain kept morning exercise enthusiasts away from parks, with most people choosing to remain at home.

Many residents documented the dust storm using their mobile phones and posted it on social media. "The early morning brought an intense dust storm, forcing me to delay my walk," said Lukerganj resident Rajul Bhargava..
