The soaring notes of I Will Always Love You will fill the mighty space of Durham Cathedral this summer during a unique music night. The city landmark, which runs a programme of events alongside its usual services, is t host a special tribute show in June called Whitney Houston by Candlelight. The live performance will feature the much-loved hits of the late superstar including - besides that famous theme of The Bodyguard film in which Houston starred alongside Kevin Costner - the likes of I Have Nothing and Greatest Love Of All.
Houston fans will find plenty more power ballads on the evening's bill along with pop and soul songs at what is being billed as an "epic live concert". The much-missed singing icon was renowned for belting out such hits as Saving All Your Love; Dance With Somebody and Moment In Time and the tribute show's audience can expect favourites like My Love Is Your Love; Million Dollar Bill and How Will I Know - all performed live by candlelight..
The concert bringing alive Houston's music is set to be a treat and made more so by the cathedral 's dramatic backdrop. It will take place there on June 20 at 7.30pm.
Tickets are already selling fast. There is remaining availability for tickets costing £30 and £35 with a £3.50 booking fee: see here .
