DUNNES Stores shoppers are racing to the tills over a new cosy range that is perfect for lounging. The retailer has gone viral many times for its range of loungewear, with shoppers not only happy with the price but also the quality. And even better, they always tend to be very fashionable and on trend, while remaining cosy.
Now, the retailer has brought out a new cosy range that has shoppers racing to the tills yet again. One fashion fan has taken to social media to share a look at what she found. Abby Cosgrove took to Instagram to share a short video with her followers.
In the caption of the post, she wrote: "Dunnes Stores, you're slaying so hard right now, all less than €10." At the beginning of the video she can be seen standing in a dressing room with a pile of clothes hanging up to try on. In a caption inserted into the post, she said: "Dunnes was popping off".
First, Abby tries on a pair of blue and white striped trousers that are perfect for summer . In a caption inserted into the video, she described them as "so soft". They feature an elasticated fitted waist, with wide pant legs to give off a flattering look.
The trousers are not currently on the Dunnes Stores website, but may still be available in your local shop. Next, she tries on a pair of grey shorts that would be perfect to wear on holiday . The Airlayer Shorts cost €10, and come in three colour options - light grey, green or white.
Shoppers can pick up a variety of sizes ranging from XS to XL. In the official item description on the Dunnes Stores website, fashion bosses wrote: "These everyday shorts are crafted from a lush, cosy fabric that boasts a lightweight, airy feel. "Featuring a comfortable elasticated waistband and two handy pockets, they are perfect for lounging and working out.
" The elasticated waist again shows off her figure, creating a flattering silhouette. Then she tries the cosy tracksuit that has been going viral across social media. She opts for the yellow joggers with a matching sweatshirt.
The Casual Soft Joggers originally cost €10, but are now available for just €5. There are three colour options available - lemon, light-blue and pale-green. But most sizes are sold out online, so shoppers should be quick to get their hands on them.
Finally, she switches the sweatshirt for a white tank top that could be worn with almost any outfit. DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit. Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland's first 'shopping frenzy'.
During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne's 'Better Value' bargains. Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 - starting with apples and oranges. The retailer said: "Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town.
"Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong. "Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas." The retailer's first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960.
They added: "In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed. "Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England." Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.
