DUI cases send some to jail, others to probation

Driving under the influence merits probation for some defendants, jail time for others.

Indiana County Common Pleas Judge Michael T. Clark handed down sentences Thursday to six defendants whose charges include driving under the influence. All the cases involved assessed court costs and fines, three were given probation, three time in Indiana County Jail: • Michael E.

Quidetto, 55, of Rayne Township, was committed to Indiana County Jail for 72 hours to six months. • Bryan A. Descavish, 29, of Philipsburg, Centre County, and Davon A.



Powell, 23, of Export, Westmoreland County, each was committed to Indiana County Jail for 10 days, then placed on probation for five years less 10 days, but with the restrictive condition of serving 120 consecutive days on house arrest with electronic monitoring. • Kaden C. Kocjancic, 20, of Leeper, Clarion County, also was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of having prohibited offensive weapons.

He was given concurrent terms totaling 18 months’ probation, with the restrictive condition of 10 consecutive days on house arrest. • Eric M. Gilbert, 42, of Glen Campbell, and David W.

Turkovich Jr., 40, of Bedford, Bedford County, each were placed on probation for six months with the restrictive condition of serving 20 consecutive days on house arrest..
