Pune: Jitendra Dudi , a 2016-batch IAS officer , on Thursday assumed charge of Pune collectorate from Suhas Diwase , who has been promoted as the state settlement commissioner and director of land records. Dudi was earlier the collector of Satara district, where he spearheaded several innovative projects. His model school initiatives in Sangli and Satara districts were selected as pilot projects for statewide implementation.
The Smart Primary Health Centre project and integrated tourism development programme in these districts, executed under his leadership, also emerged as benchmark projects for the state. A BTech graduate in computer science from Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu, Dudi's administrative career includes stints as sub-divisional magistrate in Nandurbar and Manchar-Ghodegaon, followed by his role as chief executive officer of the Sangli Zilla Parishad. Diwase will replace NK Sudhanshu, who held additional charge as settlement commissioner.
During his tenure as Pune collector , which began before the Lok Sabha election, Diwase oversaw several crucial administrative functions, besides ensuring the smooth conduct of both Lok Sabha and state assembly elections. His previous positions include commissioner of agriculture, PMRDA commissioner, Bhandara district collector and head of PCNTDA. On Dec 31, state govt had also appointed Ravindra Binwade state inspector general of registration and stamps (IGR).
He was earlier the state agriculture commissioner. The then IGR Sonawane was transferred as sports commissioner. Sports and youth commissioner Suraj Mandhare will take over as the new agriculture commissioner.
