The Duchess of Edinburgh has been impressing royal fans with her devotion to the crown over the years, but her sense of duty was particularly noticed last year when she stepped up following King Charles and Princess Kate 's cancer diagnoses. Duchess Sophie, who turned 60 earlier this week , stunned every time she stepped out, with royal fans praising her for her put together looks and her overall appearance. Sophie's radiant appearances have long been the subject of discussion, with people wanting to know her lifestyle habits for looking so good.

Two experts have spoken to Express.co.uk and weighed in on Sophie's healthy and balanced approach to life when it comes to fitness and diet.

Jeremiah Daniel, personal trainer and co-founder and CEO of Moonlight Reviews, claimed the duchess follows no strict rules when it comes to her diet and emphasises on "balance". He previously said: "The [Duchess of Edinburgh] has a holistic approach to maintaining physical and mental well-being, incorporating a variety of healthy lifestyle habits into her daily routine. "In terms of diet, [Sophie] is said to follow the Mediterranean diet with no strict rules about food intake and instead emphasises the importance of balance and overall well-being.

"Her diet consists of predominantly natural, unprocessed foods such as vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds, fish, olive oil, and moderate amounts of red wine. She also avoids foods high in sugar and fats, as well as processed and refined foods." The expert added that Sophie liked to follow an "organic lifestyle" whenever possible, including growing her own organic vegetables, avoiding processed food, and cooking healthy meals from fresh ingredients.

Another expert, Martin Sharp, a personal trainer and founder of Sharp Fit For Life, also spoke about Sophie's healthy eating habits. He said: "[Sophie] is well reported over the past decade for eating very healthily, including plant-based foods and lean protein and is also known for her culinary skills. "She is not afraid to try a sweet treat on occasion, especially when on royal duties.

Though keeping herself well hydrated and ensuring she gets proper sleep will play a large part." When it comes to exercise, the duchess is known to love a mixture of cardiovascular and weight-lifting workouts. Mr Daniel said: "[Duchess Sophie] is said to have a regular workout regime comprising yoga, running, Pilates, weight training, and tennis.

She also regularly undertakes cardiovascular workouts and enjoys playing tennis." The expert added that Sophie liked to work on her mental wellbeing too, "taking part in a variety of activities such as meditation, mindfulness, journaling, and reading." Mr Sharp opined: "By making being fit and healthy part of her lifestyle rather than a forced or optional addition, I’m sure she will prioritise her schedule to make sure there is adequate space allowed.

"As with most busy people, when it is important, which health is, then space is allotted.".
