The DTI specifically cited complaints on the failure to deliver the promised services and freebies included with ticket purchases. “In line with its consumer protection mandate, the DTI will conduct an immediate investigation to ensure a fair and prompt resolution for all parties involved,” it said in a statement on Wednesday.

As of April 1, the government agency said it had received 42 similar complaints and is contacting the event organizers to seek an explanation and address consumer grievances. The complaints largely stem from ticket holders who bought Platinum tickets for P1,999, which were marketed as offering “exclusive” perks and “premium” experience. The festival, held at the Bridgetown Concert Grounds in Pasig, featured well-known local bands such as Parokya ni Edgar and Kamikazee.



But many Platinum ticket holders, including actor Chuckie Dreyfus, voiced frustration. They claimed they had not received the advertised VIP (very important person) treatment, merchandise, or other benefits. ” This lack of clarity and failure to meet expectations led many to demand refunds or further compensation from the event organizers. In response to the mounting public criticism, the event organizers issued a statement on March 31 saying that they were addressing issues with suppliers and working to resolve the concerns raised by ticket holders.
