Today’s weather: Cool, sunny Good morning and welcome to Wednesday. Get out the chap stick, the moisturizer and water bottle — the air is going to be dry for the next few days. Look for mostly clear skies today with highs in the 70s across the Southland.

L.A. and Orange county beaches and coastal cities will see highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

High desert temperatures will reach the upper 60s today. Meanwhile, temperatures will reach the mid 70s for the valleys, Inland Empire and low desert. Tonight's lows will drop to the mid 40s to low 50s except for the high desert where the overnight lows will be chillier in the low 30s.

Come this weekend, we're going to see some big changes in the weather as a monster storm from the Pacific Northwest makes its way south. That means colder temperatures and periods of steady rainfall Saturday through Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to drop to the mid 50s and low 60s and we'll see between half an-inch to an inch of rain from the coasts to the valleys.

Any snow that comes out of this storm will fall at levels above 8,000 feet..
