LUCENA CITY — Police anti-illegal drugs operatives seized P714,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) from an alleged drug trafficker in San Mateo, Rizal, on Friday, January 24. The Region 4A police, in a spot report issued on Saturday, said that members of the local police drug enforcement unit arrested “Jeff” at 8:34 p.m.
after he reportedly sold P500 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer in Barangay (village) Ampid 1. The operatives confiscated from the suspect seven sealed plastic sachets and one knot-tied plastic bag containing shabu, weighing 105 grams, with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P714,000, as well as a digital weighing scale. Rizal police are investigating the source of the illegal drugs. The report did not specify the suspect’s classification on the police drug watch list, such as whether he is a street-level pusher or a “high-value individual” (HVI) in the local drug trade. HVI refers to financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, and importers of illegal drugs or leaders/members of drug groups.
The suspect was detained and will face the charge of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
