Drug driver jailed for fatal crash near Kingston Russell

Joshua Jack Craven, of Trinity Way, Bridport, appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court yesterday (Thursday, December 12) after admitting to causing death by dangerous driving. The 22-year-old was sentenced to eight years in prison and disqualified from driving for nine years and one month. The crash happened at around 1.

35pm on Monday, January 1 on the A35, near the turning to Kingston Russell, between Dorchester and Bridport. The crash involved a black BMW 116 M-Sport being driven by the Craven, a black Toyota Aygo and a silver Kia Sorento. Witnesses described seeing the defendant's BMW being driven in an 'erratic' and 'aggressive' manner moments before the collision at speeds estimated to have been around 80 to 90mph.
