Drones, other flying objects banned in city during PM visit

Pune: The city police have banned drones, paragliders and other flying objects in the city ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit on Tuesday in the backdrop of the state assembly elections. Joint police commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma issued an order banning any flying objects such as drones, paragliders, hot air balloons and others. The order also states that strict legal action will be taken against any person who flies any such object.

The Pune city police said, we generally give permission to fly drones and gliders. But, now these permissions would not be given due to the PM's visit. The PM Modi will arrive in the city on Tuesday and his convoy will travel from Lohegaon Airport to SP College on Tilak Road.



The entire area will be covered by heavy security blanket. Teams of security forces from central agencies will also be stationed in the city during PM Modi's Pune visit..
