DRIVERS across the US are in line to receive a share of a settlement if they have owned a particular car model. And, the payout could potentially extend to Americans who have recently changed their motor. Chiefs at the car giant Mazda are paying out concerning an engine fault that caused certain models to use more oil than usual, per the terms of the settlement .
The settlement affects models including the 2021-22 Mazda CX-30, 2021 Mazda 6, as well as the Mazda 2021 CX-5. And, the issue was linked to a faulty seal on a valve stem. Drivers have claimed that the problem caused them to pay for oil refills and changes.

The car giant will be shelling out around $172 million in a pay-out that could benefit up to 1 million people, per the Beasley Allen law firm. A lawsuit claimed that more than 600,000 cars had a fuel pump installed which could fail. The car giant had even recalled more than 100,000 cars in connection with the problem.
