Driver injured after semi carrying corn tips over on Highway 52

The driver had non-life-threatening injuries.

ORONOCO TOWNSHIP, Minn. — While transporting corn north of Rochester, an Elgin man was injured following the semi truck tipping over on U.S.

Highway 52 on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024. The 1997 Peterbilt Tractor semi was entering onto the Highway 52 southbound ramp from 75th Street Northwest when the semi tipped on its left side into the ditch, according to a Minnesota State Patrol crash report.



ADVERTISEMENT The driver of the semi, 42-year-old Adam Mark Schroeder of Elgin, was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys with non-life-threatening injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report. The Minnesota Department of Transportation said the semi was hauling corn.

The southbound lanes had traffic delays Wednesday morning while a snowplow cleared the lanes. The Minnesota State Patrol, MnDOT, Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service and Oronoco Fire Department responded to the crash. UPDATE: (10:30 a.
