Driver facing OUI after car crash on Mass Pike seriously injures road workers

A 32-year-old man is facing charges in connection with a car crash on I-90 in Boston that seriously injured two road workers early Saturday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police.

A Wellesley man is facing charges in connection with a car crash on I-90 in Boston that seriously injured two road workers early Saturday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police. Pedro Campos, 32, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation, state police said in a press release. The crash happened around 2:30 a.

m. Saturday morning on the Mass Pike westbound near the Beacon Street overpass, state police said. At the time, the left lane of the highway was open for travel while the center and right lanes were closed for construction work.



First responders found that a Nissan Pathfinder had entered the work zone and hit an elevated scissor lift with two workers onboard, state police said. Paramedics took the workers to local hospitals with serious injuries. Campos is set to be arraigned on the charges in Brighton District Court on Monday.
