Freezing weather conditions are likely to grip the UK once again with the latest weather maps predicting yet another round of snow across the country. As the country waits for snow to fall, with the Met Office slapping yellow snow weather warnings across huge swathes of the country for this week, new maps from WXCharts suggests that layers of snow will fall across the country once again on Saturday, November 23. The latest maps show that the northern parts may get the most impacted with around 18cm of snow accumulating in areas around Inverness and Wick.
Temperature levels will hover around between 0C and 1C during that period, maps suggest. It comes as parts of the country shivered on Monday as the Met Office issued the yellow warning of ice and snow . Yellow National Severe Weather Warnings for snow and ice are currently in place from Monday to Wednesday, affecting parts of Scotland, the whole of Northern Ireland, and parts of northern England, north Wales and the north Midlands.
Dan Suri is a Chief Meteorologist at the Met Office and said: “An area of low pressure slides its way eastwards on Monday night. “The associated frontal system, marking the boundary between cold air in the north and milder conditions to the south, will bring disruptive snow to some areas between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.” The Met Office ’s long-range forecast between Saturday, November 23 and Monday, December 2 reads: “After a cold start with increasingly cloudy skies into the weekend conditions turn more to rain, sometimes heavy, with strong winds.
“On the leading edge of this some brief snowfall is possible, this more likely across parts of northern Scotland. “Strong winds and blustery showers, especially in the west close the weekend before a more settled period develops. “Late in the month there's still potential for more organised bands of rain and stronger winds, with some wintry conditions possible, though most snow limited to northern hills.
“Conditions remain uncertain at the turn of the month but increased signals for a resumption or continuance of more settled conditions with temperatures mostly just below average for much of the period.”.
