Barragup-based trainer Ian Bunny has a double chance in this Friday night’s Group 3 Young Stars Classic final (488m) at Greyhounds WA Mandurah after littermates Another James and Fancy That Fred had wins during last week’s heat stage. Both chasers, which are out of a Sennachie-Hazlehurst November 2022 litter, share early speed as a racing trait and both dogs capitalised with brilliant starts during their respective heats before going on to record all-the-way wins. Another James continued his recent sequence of good form when he beat eventual placegetters Impress Wilder and Sunset Worm for the lead before maintaining his margin throughout the journey to score by more than two lengths.
Another James stopped the clock in 27.44, the equal fastest qualifying time, which was shared with Iconic Jet. Fancy That Fred showed plenty of early dash to sweep across from box eight and snare the front running position before kicking away to win comfortably by three-and-a-half lengths in 27.
85. Iconic Jet racked up his 11th career win for trainer Shayne Williams after he hunted up in the outside to reel in Premium Star and then surged away in the home straight. The other heat winners were Arbolino and Rigatoni Monelli.
