January 8, 1939 - October 16, 2024 LANDISBURG - Dorothy A. Beam, 85, of Landisburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 8, 1939, in Carlisle, and was a daughter of the late Raymond Barrick and Evelyn (Knouse) Barrick.
Dorothy was the loving wife of Donald Beam for the last 68 years. Dorothy attended Cumberland Valley High School. She was a member of the former Triumph Church of God, Carlisle.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise K. Harrington (her husband, Marshall) of Shermansdale; her three grandchildren, Jeremy Smiley (his wife, Grace) of Rochester, N.H.
, Alex Smiley (his wife, Jen) of Duncannon, Skyla Loy of Harrisburg; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Elva Fleisher (her husband, Fred) of Clearfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son in-law, Debra Smiley and Rodger Smiley; another daughter, Donna Beam; a son, David Beam; her brother, Ed Barrick; and her sister, Nancy Montgomery.
A graveside service will be held at Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 12 p.m. www.
