Don't Go.

My children are exploring the possibility of emigrating, as are many Kos citizens and many of my liberal friends. I say to you all, please reconsider.The United States has the most power of any single gorilla in this room we call Earth. We sit on mega-tons of destruction; we have had the greatest economy. We enjoy enormous sources of innovation and paths to shaping the future—not just of our country, but of the world. Are we going to abandon this power to the ignorant masses ruled by the greedy lords we have allowed to be raised up? Is that what Navalny would have done?We need to stay in place and find a way to reverse course. The great and wealthiest states in our Union need to join hands and find ways to resist, to prevent, to undo. We cannot bleed away the true thinking patriots; we need to be the change that the world of humanity will need to survive.Suck up your courage. Reach out to the good leaders we have been able to put in place. Let them know we expect them to be the foundation of our resistance to this horrific slide into authoritarianism.If the wealthiest states in this nation refuse to play with the Trump government, perhaps we can save the world.Don’t quit.
