A prominent tech journalist has predicted that tensions will occur between President-elect Donald Trump and Elon Musk , comparing their potential clash to the cult classic film Highlander. CNN contributor Kara Swisher, speaking on The Chris Wallace Show Saturday, suggested Trump will grow "irritated" with what she characterized as Musk's need for attention. "I will repeat what I said about Elon Musk and Trump.

One of my favorite moves is Highlander and there can be only one and that will be Trump. We will see what happens in the wake of that," she said. " Host Chris Wallace drew parallels to former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon's relationship with Trump, referencing a Time magazine cover featuring Bannon shortly after Trump's 2016 victory. "I remember thinking, the boss is not going to like that," Wallace said. Swisher responded sharply stating: "And in comparison for the need for attention between Bannon and Musk, Bannon looks like a kitty cat.

Elon needs a lot of attention and Trump will be irritated by that." The Highlander reference draws from the 1986 film starring Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, who battles fellow immortal Kurgan, who is played by Clancy Brown, in a fight where "there can be only one." Earlier in the week, Swisher also predicted on CNN that Musk's X platform and Trump's Truth Social would eventually merge.
