Donald Trump reportedly survived what is being called a second assassination attempt on Monday. The latest attempt was made when the former US president and presidential candidate for 2024 elections was playing golf at his West Palm Beach club in Florida. According to CNN, the Secret Service agents spotted a rifle barrel sticking out of a bush along the perimeter of the golf club and opened fire.

The alleged shooter, Ryan Wesley Routh (58), was about 300 to 500 yards away from Trump . Some reports even claim that shots were fired by the shooter before the Secret Service engaged. #BREAKING : Statement from former President Trump after second apparent assassination attempt.

Meanwhile, many Republican supporters have expressed frustration over the targeting of Trump, now twice in two months. The former President was targeted in July as well at a rally in Pennsylvania and narrowly escaped death as a bullet pierced his ear. SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is one of many who are speaking out on the latest attempt to allegedly assassinate Trump.

The billionaire even ended up posting an extremely polarising post, questioning why no one is trying to attack US President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris , who is succeeding the former and competing against Trump. "And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala," Must posted on X responding to a post about the attack on Trump. Another user demanded the suspension of Musk's account citing "incitement of violence." Interestingly, Musk tried to clarify his post saying it was joke and taken out of context.

"Turns out that jokes are WAY less funny if people don’t know the context and the delivery is plain text," he wrote. "Well, one lesson I’ve learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh doesn’t mean it’s going to be all that hilarious as a post on X," he said in a second post.
