President-Elect Donald Trump has nominated former Congressman and Fox Business host Sean Duffy to serve as his transportation secretary . The announcement came late Monday night when a fill-in anchor on Duffy's Fox Business Show announced that the incoming president had selected the father of nine. Trump then released a statement confirming the appointment on his Truth social media platform.
"I am pleased to announce that former Congressman Sean Duffy, from the Great State of Wisconsin , is nominated to serve as the Secretary of Transportation," wrote Trump. "Sean has been a tremendous and well-liked public servant, starting his career as a District Attorney for Ashland, Wisconsin, and later elected to the U.S.
House of Representatives for Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District." "During his time in Congress, Sean was a respected voice and communicator in the Republican Conference, advocating for Fiscal Responsibility, Economic Growth, and Rural Development," the man wrote. According to Trump, "Sean has been a tremendous and well-liked public servant" adding that Duffy was "admired across the aisle".

In 2011, the man was elected to represent Wisconsin in the US House of Representatives, where he served until 2019. Duffy is the second Fox News personality to be nominated by Trump to serve in his cabinet.
