Donal Skehan has taken to Instagram to pay a wholesome birthday tribute to his beloved wife Sofie through a series of photos. The popular TV chef and his wife Sofie have been together since they were 19, going on to tie the knot at Dublin City Hall followed by a reception in the beautiful Lisnavagh House in Carlow. It’s been a hectic year for the couple, who jetted off to Sofie’s native city of Gothenburg, located along Sweden’s west coast, with their sons Noah and Oliver, as well as Donal being named the godfather to Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian’s daughter Blu.

Never one to miss a romantic moment, Donal posted a number of images of Sofie from over the years, including one of them from their early dating days as teenagers. Donal captioned the post: ‘Happy Birthday, Sof! We all love you so much! Thank you for looking after all of us, through all the madness and for keeping this little family of ours together. ‘We’re so lucky to have you!’ A post shared by Donal (@donalskehan) The comments section of the post saw Donal’s famous friends and fans rushing to wish Sofie a happy birthday and wish their young family well.

DWTS judge Arthur Gourounlian said: ‘Sofia, you are absolutely amazing we adore you! Happy Birthday! You’re the heartbeat of the Skehan household, the wise soul guiding your husband, and a true goddess! ‘Honestly, without you, Donal would probably still be chasing that Eurovision dream! Here’s to you, J’ADOR.’ This Morning presenter Dermot O’Leary wrote: ‘Where would we be without the Scandi’s.’ While one fan commented: ‘Happy Birthday to her.

Hope she has an amazing one.’ The Skehans are currently loving life in their family home after moving back to Ireland during the pandemic following several years in America. The purchase of their first home arrived Donal and Sofie spent 17 years renting.
