The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series in 2024 but could be losing some key contributors in free agency. Teoscar Hernández declined his $21.05 million qualifying offer from the Dodgers and could be lured to sign elsewhere.

While listing the top 20 free agents and predicting where they would sign, FanSided's Nick Villano predicted that Hernández would leave the Dodgers to sign with the Minnesota Twins. "After how terribly the season ended for the Minnesota Twins, nobody expects them to sit on their heels, right? There’s one complication here, as the Twins are exploring a sale, and teams tend to really watch their books during the sale process, but this is a baseball team that can’t waste an offseason because of that," wrote Villano. "Also, Hernandez isn’t going to make 'change the franchise valuation' money.

" Hernández had a career year, hitting 33 home runs en route to helping the Dodgers win the World Series. He was named an All-Star for the second time in his career. Spotrac projects him to sign a three-year, $71 million deal in free agency.

Hernández has made it clear he wants to stay with the Dodgers, but it is not entirely up to him. Losing him would be a big blow to the Dodgers, but they may view other positions as bigger priorities to spend on. "It just seems like the Dodgers are content with letting another team pay him the big bucks.

So that begs the question, what is Hernandez looking for in a suitor? It seemed like the Dodgers are the perfect fit, as they have the money, the familiarity, and they are a contender, but the fact that the deal isn’t done tells us they have bigger plans for that money," wrote Villano.
