manager Dave Roberts called Freeman day-to-day, and for the most clumsy human reason. Freeman, who has recovered from surgery in the offseason to repair his right ankle injury, tweaked that same ankle while he was at home. Roberts called it a "mishap" for Freeman entering his home shower.

In his absence, Enrique Hernandez starts at first base and Michael Conforto moves up in the batting order. Hopefully, Freeman watches his step a little more carefully from here on out when getting in the shower.
