SUNBURY — A dispatcher at the Northumberland County communications center has been fired after being charged with threatening and assaulting a female co-worker. The incident that resulted in charges against Andrew Thomas Youngs, 40, of Northumberland, occurred about 8 a.m.

Tuesday during a test of the emergency and non-emergency telephone lines. The female telecommunicator identified by police as Macie Sassani, told all those in the center she was going to use her cell phone to call 911 as a test, Sunbury police said. Stories by John Beauge Pa.
