Disney+ customers slam ‘ridiculous’ price hikes as email reveals they’ll now have to start paying more

AN INFLUX of Disney+’s annual customers have received the dreaded email explaining that the cost of their subscription will rise with their next payment.The streaming giant hiked prices in October last year by up to £24 for its ad-free ‘Standard’ and ‘Premium’ annual plans.In 2020, when the service first launched in the UK, an annual Disney+ subscription cost £59.

We wanted to let you know that we are updating our prices.“If you choose to stay on your current Disney+ Premium plan, your subscription will increase to £129.90 per year from XX March 2025, unless you cancel before then.

“That’s because we want to bring you the very best entertainment we can, from new originals you won’t find anywhere else, to the latest blockbuster movies.”If you’re on the Standard tier, the email will tell you that the annual price is going up from £79.90 to £89.
