The accused, namely Diwakar Garg, Acharya Jayaprakash, and two more, were allegedly introduced to Mr. Jagdish by his mutual friend Shivendra Pratap Singh, who promised him a position as chairman or vice chairman in a government commission. A resident of Civil Lines in UP’s Bareilly, Mr.

Jagdish, himself a retired deputy SP, fell for the offer and transferred Rs 20 lakh to three different bank accounts over a period of three months, while handing over Rs 5 lakh in cash. The accused promised to return the entire amount with interest after the job is done. When he demanded money back, the fraudsters threatened him.

Realizing he’s been scam med, Disha’s father registered an FIR against the five, including his friend Shivendra. Per Disha’s father, the conman introduced him to one Mr. Himanshu who claimed to be an “officer on special duty” with political connections.

It explicitly advises not to lend money in exchange for a job. But the ground reality is something else, as most job seekers can attest.
