NCIS viewers brutally slammed this weeks' episode calling "boring" and the "worst written" across the entire franchise . On Dec. 9, NCIS aired season 22 episode 8 of the drama crime series which left many fans "disappointed" and waiting for a climax that never occurred.
In the episode titled 'Out of Control,' viewers are brought along as the NCIS investigates a murder related to a car that suddenly was able to drive on its own when it's AI system malfunctions. After the failure, the vehicle begins to pilot itself and drives into a garage, where the team later arrives to investigate Navy Lieutenant Mason Winslow who is missing from the home. The episode comes to a close after the team discovers that someone murdered Mason and that she was linked to multiple other carjackings in the area.
And while the premise sounds interesting enough, viewers at home were incredibly disappointed by the lack of action as opposed to other episodes this season . NCIS writer taken aback when told to kill off show's beloved recurring character NCIS' most heartbreaking cast exits as spin-offs set to bring back favorite characters In a newly posted Reddit thread, one unsatisfied viewer wrote: "This was the worst written episode of any that has been shown under the 'NCIS' title. So disappointed.
" Another agreed: "It was boring and I say this as someone who'd watch Gary Cole read a phonebook. Kept waiting for some climax or reveal, got neither. Even Gary didn't know what to make of the lines, with his stilted outbursts.
" Another long-time viewer chimed in: "Which is wild because it was Steven Binder and Scott Williams who wrote it and they usually put out fire episodes." And a fourth critic replied: "Yeah, I felt the same way too. Even the LeMere storyline from three seasons ago flowed better than this.
" While the majority of viewers were let down by the episode, some looked on the bright side as fans finally had a chance to get a glimpse into Alden Parker's psyche. One person wrote: "The meat of this episode was Parker's story. Stress and anxiety does strange things to people but this is a good storyline to follow (The rest of the episode was kind of a trainwreck).
" And as Parker's memory seemed to be scattered, many feared that this could be alluding to a brain tumor or potentially Alzheimer's disease.
