Director Ashwini Dhir's son passes away in a car crash

Bollywood director Ashwini Dhir's 18-year-old son, Jalaj, tragically died in a car crash in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Jalaj and a friend, Sarthak Kaushik, were killed when their speeding car, allegedly driven by an intoxicated friend, hit a divider. Two other occupants survived with minor injuries. The group had been playing video games and went for a late-night drive.

Tragedy has struck the house of Bollywood director Ashwini Dhir, who is known for his work in movies like ‘Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge,’ ‘Son Of Sardar’ and more. Ashwini Dhir has lost his 18-year-old son Jalaj Dhir in a car crash . Jalaj was supposed to travel with his father to IFFI with the movie ‘Hisaab Barabar,’ but fate had other plans.

Reportedly, Jalaj was traveling in a car with his three friends, when the accident happened. The crash resulted in the demise of Jalaj and one other occupant. Reports also suggest that the person in the driving seat was under the influence of alcohol.

According to the reports, the car was running at a speed of 120-150 mph when it collided with the divider between the service road and the bridge at Vile Parle. Jalaj and his friend Sarthak Kaushik lost their lives in the tragic accident, and their other friend Jimmy reported the matter to the police, who arrested the driver Sahil Mendha. According to an Amar Ujala report, Jalaj had his three friends over at his place in Goregaon East.

They played video games till 3:30 am and then went for a drive. They stopped at Sidgi in Bandra for dinner and then got back in the car around 4:10. Reportedly, Sahil lost control and the car collided, leaving him and Jimmy suffering minor injuries, while Jalaj and Sarthak, had fatal wounds.

Jimmy with the help of two people present at the scene, rushed Jalaj to the trauma hospital in Jogeshwari East. He was later transferred to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where doctors declared he was no more. On the other hand, Sahil took Sarthak to Bhabha Hospital (in Bandra West) where after examination, he was also declared dead.
