No. 1 Oregon avoided an upset loss against Wisconsin on Saturday night, winning by the final score of 16-13 at Camp Randall Stadium. Dillon Gabriel recorded his first game of the season without a passing touchdown and threw an interception in the red zone during the first quarter.
He was still able to make plays and extend drives in the second half to help the Ducks stay unbeaten after entering the fourth quarter facing a 13-6 deficit, though. Gabriel finished 22-of-31 for 218 yards. Oregon was also able to secure the win due to a strong performance from junior running back Jordan James.
He picked up 121 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries, adding 25 more yards as a receiver. Ducks head coach Dan Lanning stayed aggressive, attempting a fake field goal with his team leading by three points and just under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Oregon wasn't able to convert, but the team still earned the win with an interception by defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei on a tipped pass at the line of scrimmage.
Fans were impressed with the Ducks as they staved off a potentially shocking defeat. With the victory, Oregon improved to 11-0 for the first time since 2010..
