Digvesh Rathi fined AGAIN, penalized with two demerit points for ‘Notebook’ celebration

Digvesh Rathi, who dismissed Naman Dhir and followed it up with a “notebook” celebration during the IPL 2025 clash between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday night in Lucknow, has been handed a 50% match fee fine along with two demerit points. Meanwhile, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant has also been fined INR 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate in the 12-run victory. It was the second such offence and penalty, for Rathi under Article 2.

Since it was his second Level 1 code of conduct breach, the latest offense resulted in a heftier fine, despite him being at a fair distance from the batter. The offense added two more demerit points to the one he had from the earlier occasion.According to the IPL Code of Conduct, four demerit points equal one suspension point, which means that the player will be forced to sit out in one match when that mark is reached.
