The 98-year-old actor reassured fans that he and Arlene are safe after the evacuation. Thousands of Malibu residents have been forced to evacuate due to a "particularly dangerous red flag warning" as the wildfires, which began on Monday night, have destroyed more than 2,700 acres .

Dick sadly revealed that one of his cats is missing. On Facebook , he shared, "Arlene and I have safely evacuated with our animals except for Bobo escaped as we were leaving. We're praying he'll be ok and that our community in Serra Retreat will survive these terrible fires.

Mandatory evacuation orders were issued by the City of Malibu. Dick will be celebrating his 99th birthday on Friday.

He marked the special occasion by featuring in Coldplay's music video for All My Love from the band's tenth studio album Moon Music. The video was filmed at the actor's now-endangered Malibu residence. Meanwhile, the National Weather Service's Los Angeles office has issued an urgent red flag weather warning, indicating a "particularly dangerous situation" with "very extreme fire danger" looming until Wednesday morning.

As a precaution, power outages have left much of Malibu in the dark to reduce wildfire risks , prompting all local schools to close on Tuesday "until further notice," according to the city's latest update. In response to the Franklin Fire, Governor Newsom has acknowledged the tireless efforts of fire officials and first responders. In a statement, he said, "Fire officials and first responders are working relentlessly to protect lives and property from the Franklin Fire.
