The Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary T.T.V.
Dhinakaran on Friday (November 29, 2024) called upon Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to hold talks with agitating government doctors to fulfil their demands.
In a post on his social media handle, Mr. Dhinakaran said the agitators had been demanding that over 5,000 vacancies be filled and medical posts be created in proportion to the strength of patients. Though shortage of doctors and nurses had been prevalent from the level of primary health centres to government hospitals, the current medical staff had been working selflessly, and it was condemnable that their services were being belittled, he said.
In another post, he cited the murder of three persons in Palladam and said this was a “reflection” of the “complete ineffectiveness” of the Police Department in Tamil Nadu. Mr. Stalin should take steps to get stringent punishment for the guilty and provide full freedom to the department.
