This day is purely dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu and holds a great reverence in Hindu religion. People make so many preparations for this day to celebrate it with enthusiasm and fervor. This is the sacred day when Lord Vishnu will come out of the Ksheer Sagar to take a hold of this universe again as he is the preserver of this amazing universe which Lord Brahma had created.
Shree Hari takes care of every living being and he also gives salvation to the soul and liberates them from the cycle of the birth and death. During this four months of period, no auspicious things takes places, all types of auspicious activities are prohibited during this period as Lord Vishnu is the one, who bestow his devotees with happiness, prosperity, auspiciousness and all the worldly pleasures and without his presence, Goddess Laxmi also goes into a meditation state so when the preserver and Goddess of wealth are not available then it becomes difficult to perform any activity related to this materialistic world. Devotees were only able to perform religious and spiritual activities during this time period.
Dev Uthani Ekadashi 2024: How to worship Lord Vishnu? Wake up early in the morning and you need to first clean the house. Take bath after cleaning the house. Take Haldi and Kumkum and make Swastik on both side of the entrance door.
Take a sankalp of observing fast with utmost devotion. Prepare different types of savouries and sweets for the bhog prasad. People should be aware of not plucking the Tulsi leaves on this sacred day of Ekadashi.
They are advised to pluck the Tulsi leaves a day before Ekadashi and keep it in water so that you can offer it to the Lord on the day of Ekadashi. Your thoughts should be clean and keep fast with purity. Maintain cleanliness on this auspicious day.
Avoid taking bath with any soap and body cleanser. Devotes should visit the temple to offer prayers to Lord Vishnu and in the evening, women prepare Ekadashi with Geru and Khadiya on the floor and offer Sevaiyan to the Lord, light a diya with desi ghee, offer water chestnut, sugarcane and other fruits to the Lord.
