Deputies provide hurricane relief

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has sent deputies to assist the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina as they continue to work through the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has sent deputies to assist the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina as they continue to work through the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. On Oct. 20, 10 Charleston County deputies departed for Buncombe County, which is the county Asheville, North Carolina is located in.

Throughout the week, these deputies will work static posts, escorts, and be paired with Buncombe deputies during their shifts. "This is not just about helping our neighbors like we did with our donations a few weeks ago, but now it’s about helping our fellow brothers and sisters in blue through this tough time as they are experiencing a level of loss and devastation not many can understand,” said Sheriff Kristin Graziano. "We're all one team and anything that we can do to help these agencies get to the other side of this, we will do that, no questions asked.



” The 10 deputies who volunteered to travel to North Carolina will return to Charleston County on Oct. 27..
