September 24, 1946 — April 8, 2025 GRAND ISLAND — Dennis K. Schuyler, 78, of Grand Island, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.
m. on Tuesday, April 15, All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate.
Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, with military honors rendered by the U.S. Army and United Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 14, at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Dennis was raised in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1965. He was on the track team and excelled at the pole vault, his record being 13 feet 3/4 inches.
He continued his education and attended two years at Central Community College in Hastings majoring in Carpentry. Dennis was enlisted in the U.S.
Army on May 13, 1968, and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on October 18, 1969. Through mutual friends, Dennis met his best friend and wife, Kaye.
On September 12, 1970, they were married and blessed with daughter, Amy. Dennis and Kaye made their home in Grand Island and lived in the same house for over 40 years. Dennis was a skilled carpenter for many years, he worked for Berkley Pump for 24 years and then was employed in the maintenance department at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center until his retirement.
Dennis was always active; he was a runner and ran several marathons. He played fast pitch softball and when Amy was in softball, Dennis coached her team. He was active in the GI Joggers and organized the Bill Seymour Half Marathon for several years.
Throughout his life Dennis continued to build and carve furniture and keepsakes for friends and family. He was a member of the Carving Club. Dennis volunteered at the Nebraska State Fair and enjoyed meeting all the people attending.
Dennis was a Husker football and baseball fan. He and his family made yearly vacations to Kansas City to watch the Royals. He was also a Cubs baseball fan.
Dennis was hard working and patient. His friends and family will miss his humor and creative spirit. He is survived by his wife, Kaye of Grand Island; daughter, Amy (Mike) Lauritsen of Lincoln; grandchildren, Brady and Emma; sisters-in-law, Dianne, Una and Phon; nephews, Ryan and Mark and their families; niece, Oh and her family; along with numerous extended family and friends.
