Delta police drug trafficking investigation nets 30 charges for 2 men

Charges against Devin Bains and Elliot Bains stem from search warrants executed in North Delta and Richmond in November of 2022

Two North Delta residents are facing a slew of drug- and firearm-related charges stemming from a years-long investigation by police. On Friday, the Delta Police Department issued a press release announcing the completion of an "extensive investigation" into the alleged drug trafficking activities of Devin Bains and Elliot Bains. The investigation involved the execution of search warrants in Richmond and North Delta on Nov.

3 and 4, 2022, at which time police say they found evidence of drug trafficking and seized a "significant" quantity of illegal drugs, cash and four firearms. Initially, both Bains were arrested then released pending further investigation. The arrests and seizures were the second of three gang-related incidents in North Delta over a 72-hour span, following a in the area of 92A Avenue and 117th Street on Nov.



3 and the arrest of a man returning to a suspicious vehicle police believed had been staged on Upper Canyon Road to be used in potentially violent acts associated with the Lower Mainland gang conflict. In Richmond Provincial Court on Sept. 24, 2024, Crown counsel formally charged Devin Bains and Elliot Bains with a total of 30 offences.

Both men are charged with one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking, four counts each of unauthorized possession of a firearm, four counts each of possessing a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, four counts each of careless use or storage of a firearm, and one count each of possessing a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition. As well, Devin Bains is charged with two counts of possessing a firearm etc. contrary to a court order.

The two men have been arrested and are currently in custody pending trial. "The Delta Police Department remains dedicated to combating drug trafficking and enhancing community safety and well-being. We encourage anyone with information regarding drug-related activities to report their concerns to their police of jurisdiction," the department said in its press release.
