Dell has recently broadened its laptop offerings by introducing new AI-enabled consumer PCs. The latest additions to the lineup are the XPS 14 and XPS 16 models. According to Dell, these new laptops are equipped with the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, which incorporate integrated artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance both performance and efficiency.

5-inch OLED screen with a 3.2K+ resolution. The laptops are equipped with 3D stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos and Waves MaxxAudio tuning.

The XPS 16 is powered by a robust 99.5Whr battery and supports 130W fast charging through a USB Type-C port. As the most premium model in the series, the Dell XPS 16 can be configured with an Intel Core Ultra 9 series processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics.

After utilizing the device for approximately a week, we share our impressions. Design and display: In terms of design, the XPS 16 is truly remarkable. It is crafted from a blend of machined aluminum and Gorilla Glass 3, providing a robust, lightweight, and high-end appearance.

With a thickness of only 18.7mm, it generally qualifies as ‘thin and light,’ although it is not particularly light in weight. The use of premium materials adds to its heft, with the OLED model weighing in at 2.

2kg. The IPS FHD version is marginally lighter at 2.13kg, yet the substantial feel of this device is still quite noticeable.

The device lacks both a USB-A port and an HDMI port; however, Dell provides a USB-C to USB-A converter to accommodate your pen drives. Additionally, while there is a microSD card reader available, there is no slot for a standard SD card, which is commonly utilized by many professionals. The laptop boasts a vibrant 16.

3-inch OLED 4K touchscreen display, delivering rich colors with just the right amount of depth, creating a lively and natural visual experience without being overly crisp. Its ultra-slim bezels virtually disappear, enhancing the immersive feel of the screen. Featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and a quick response time, it handles gaming and social media smoothly without lag.

As for audio, the speakers are impressively loud, clear, and punchy for a laptop, offering an enjoyable sound experience. Performance and battery: The XPS 16 is equipped with either an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H or an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor. These processors feature both power and efficiency cores, which are claimed to enhance battery longevity.

Additionally, they include a Neural Processing Unit that is dedicated to managing AI tasks independently from the main processor; further details on this will be provided later. When paired with 32GB of DDR5 memory and high-speed NVMe SSDs, the XPS 16 delivers exceptional performance. During our normal usage, the Dell machine never lagged or felt slow.

In addition, playing games on this Dell laptop was a truly enjoyable experience, thanks to its powerful processor. The laptop handled demanding games with ease, delivering smooth and responsive performance even during intense action sequences. The fast processing speed ensured minimal lag, allowing for seamless gameplay and quick load times.

The XPS 16 performed close to some more powerful gaming laptops we’ve reviewed. The XPS 16 is equipped with a robust 99.5 Wh battery, offering an impressive 7-8 hours of use on a full charge.

For quick power-ups, the laptop supports 130-watt USB-C fast charging, allowing it to recharge to full capacity in just about 1.5 hours. Even with settings maxed out, the battery still provides a solid 7 hours of backup, ensuring you can rely on it for extended work or entertainment sessions without worrying about frequent recharges.

Keyboard and trackpad This keyboard is easily one of the most aesthetically pleasing I’ve come across. It features a sleek, minimalist design with a 0.3mm key travel, offering a smooth, comfortable typing experience.

The keys are perfectly spaced and provide just the right amount of responsiveness, making typing both efficient and satisfying. The flat design adds to its modern, clean look while maintaining functionality. Additionally, the trackpad is highly responsive and precise, ensuring smooth navigation and seamless control.

Together, the keyboard and trackpad elevate the overall user experience with both style and performance. Conclusion: Priced at Rs. 2,99,990 in India or AED 12,099 in UAE, the Dell XPS 16 stands out as one of the finest laptops available, offering an exceptional blend of performance, design, and versatility.

Whether you're tackling daily work tasks, streaming content, or diving into gaming, this laptop handles it all with ease. Its powerful processor, huge display, and long-lasting battery make it a top choice for productivity, while its smooth refresh rate and immersive sound provide a solid gaming experience. With a sleek design, efficient keyboard, and responsive trackpad, the XPS 16 excels in both style and function, making it an excellent investment for anyone seeking a reliable, high-performance laptop.
