How to make air fryer apple turnover: Two large cooking apples (such as Bramley), peeled, cored, and diced 50g granulated sugar One tablespoon lemon juice One teaspoon ground cinnamon 50g stem ginger, finely chopped One sheet of ready-rolled puff pastry (about 320g) One egg, beaten Icing sugar, for dusting (optional) Vanilla ice cream or custard, to serve (optional) Firstly, preheat the air fryer to 180°C (360°F) for five minutes. In a bowl, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, ground cinnamon and chopped stem ginger.

Mix well to coat the apples evenly. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into four equal squares. Divide the apple mixture evenly among the four squares of puff pastry, placing it in the centre of each square.

Fold each puff pastry square diagonally over the filling to form a triangle shape. Press the edges firmly to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges of each turnover to ensure they are well sealed and brush the tops with beaten egg.

Place in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving some space between each turnover. Cook in the air fryer at 180°C (360°F) for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Once cooked, remove from the air fryer and cool slightly.

Dust with icing sugar, if desired. Finally, serve warm with vanilla ice cream or custard..
