Delhi Zoo Launches Cool Summer Plan for Heat Relief Animals at the National Zoological Park in Delhi will receive special 'fruit ice cubes' and enhanced water sprinklers to beat the summer heat. Tigers, lions, leopards, and jackals are among those benefiting from these provisions, aimed at providing respite from soaring temperatures.Beginning April 1, the zoo will enact its 'summer action plan,' featuring comprehensive measures such as air coolers in enclosures, frequent water showers, and shaded resting areas. Zoo Director Sanjeet Kumar highlighted the structured plan to ensure animal comfort during the hottest months.The park is adapting to the 38.9-degree Celsius heat by employing strategies such as shaded water pools for carnivores, lighter diets for the animals, and frequent showers for herbivores like elephants and deer. Additional attention is being given to primates, reptiles, and birds with customized cooling solutions.
