BJP leader Parvesh Verma said that the "Talkatora Stadium will be renamed as Maharishi Valmiki Stadium if BJP comes to power". Delhi is set to cast vote on February 5, and the results will be announced on February 8.

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Parvesh Verma on Monday said that the Talkatora Stadium will be renamed as Maharshi Valmiki Stadium, if the saffron party comes to power. He added that he was put the demand in the first meeting of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) after the Delhi Assembly Polls 2025 results will be declared, and BJP will gain power in the national capital. Parvesh Verma is contesting the Delhi Elections against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal.

While speaking to media, the BJP candidate for the New Delhi constituency, Verma, said the stadium will be renamed after Valmiki as he promised the people of the Valmiki community who had been wanting a building in the name of the legendary poet and author of Ramayana. He added that the stadium was was earlier named by the Mughals who used it as swimming pool, "which has now lost its relevance".
