The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday released its first list of 11 candidates for the crucial Assembly election in the national capital due in February 2025. Interestingly, the maiden list of the party does not feature names of big AAP leaders such as Chief Minister Atishi, former CM Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia or even Delhi ministers like Saurabh Bhardwaj, Gopal Rai and others. AAP has fielded six leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress, who recently switched to the Kejriwal-led party.

Among these are former BJP leaders Brahm Singh Tanwar from Chhatarpur, Anil Jha from Kirari and BB Tyagi from Laxmi Nagar. Besides them, the ex-Congress leaders on the list are Zubair Chaudhary from Seelampur, Veer Singh Dhingan from Seemapuri and Somesh Shokeen from Matiala. Apart from these, the party has fielded Sarita Singh from Rohtas Nagar, Ram Singh Netaji from Badarpur, Gaurav Sharma from Ghonda, Manoj Tyagi from Karawal Nagar and Deepak Singhal from Vishwas Nagar.
