Delfouneso was named caretaker boss of the Coasters following Chris Beech’s dismissal on Sunday. And he was delighted to get underway with a 2-1 win over the Shrimpers. “There’s a buzz about the place,” Delfouneso told the club’s website.

“There’s joy and happiness and I’m proud and happy to be part of getting that win for everyone involved.” Nick Haughton bagged an injury time winner for AFC Fylde who triumphed for the first time since the opening day of the season. And Delfouneso felt Fylde looked more dangerous late on.

“Some of the breakaways we had were fantastic,” said Delfouneso . “We could’ve scored more goals but they were a very good side. “They were very dangerous and we had to be disciplined.

“We had to ride our luck a bit at times and try and make sure we controlled their wave on when they were on top which I felt we did. “The last 15 minutes we were very strong and we were the only ones who were going to win the game at that point.”.
