Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes ended their 2024 regular season on a very high note, blowing out the Oklahoma State Cowboys 52-0 in what would be the final game for Travis Hunter and Coach Prime's son, Shedeur Sanders, at home in Boulder. The two stars are expected to declare for the 2025 NFL draft, barring a major change. Not only that but Shedeur Sanders and Hunter are widely projected to be top-five picks following a strong 2024 campaign.

The two are still set to play in Colorado's bowl game, but there will be large gaps in the offense once they depart for the NFL. However, after the latest win, Deion Sanders spoke to the media for a postgame interview, making a claim that may not only help fill those voids if true, but should scare the rest of college football. "I told you I’m hitting that portal like never before,” Coach Prime said.

In both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Coach Prime has pulled one of the top classes from the transfer portal, including the No. 1 class in 2023 ( 247 Sports ). Some of the other top players he has brought in include wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr.

from USF (2023), wide receiver LaJohntay Wester from FAU (2024) and defensive end BJ Green from Arizona State (2024). Nick Tre. The team will also be adding five-star quarterback Julian Lewis ( ESPN ) as a possible Shedeur Sanders replacement, as he decommited from USC and elected to join the Buffaloes starting in 2025. The Buffaloes (9-3, 7-2 in Big 12 play) are still in contention for a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game and the CFP this season but will need a few things to go their way in conference play on Saturday.
