We have provided humanitarian aid in more than 30 countries, including Canada.
In 2024, IDRF implemented 94 projects, benefiting over two million people through food, water, shelter, education, and healthcare initiatives – thanks to the generosity of Canadians. IDRF prides itself on adhering to the highest standards of transparency and accountability and has been recognized among Charity Intelligence Canada’s Top 100 Charities since 2020, including in 2024. Recently, an article published in the Toronto Sun was critical of our humanitarian work.
However, we recognize that many Canadians may not know us, so we wish to set the record straight. IDRF does not intend to give these statements more attention than they deserve, but it is categorically not true that it is in any way connected to terrorist organizations in Gaza or that it has any connection at all to Hamas. Nor has IDRF ever supported terrorist activities or an “orphan program” designed to encourage martyrdom.
IDRF supports food assistance and healthcare initiatives. This is what IDRF is focused on doing. Our work is driven by a commitment to humanitarian principles.
We provide essential services such as healthcare, education, and emergency relief to communities affected by conflict, natural disasters, and poverty. Our projects are designed to empower individuals and promote sustainable development, irrespective of their race, religion, or political affiliation. Further, IDRF operates with the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
We are a registered charity in Canada, and our financial activities are subject to rigorous scrutiny by the Canada Revenue Agency. Our partnerships and projects undergo thorough due diligence to ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards. We will continue to serve vulnerable communities with the same dedication and compassion that have defined our work for over forty years.
